Add Adsense Code in Wordpress

Google AdSense is one of the most popular way to monetize your website. Did you know that you can easily add Google AdSense to your WordPress site and start making money? In this article, we will show you how to add Google AdSense in WordPress along with sharing some best practice and tips to increase your earnings.
What is Google AdSense?

Google AdSense is an advertising network run by Google that allows bloggers and website owners an opportunity to earn money by showing text, image, video, and other interactive advertisement on their websites. These ads are targeted by site content and audience.
Google AdSense is hassle free because you don’t have to deal with advertisers or worry about collecting money. Google administers and maintain relationships with the advertisers. They collect the payment, take their share, and send your share to you.
AdSense offers cost-per-click ads (CPC) which means that you earn money every time a user clicks on the ad on your website. The amount received per click varies based on multiple factors.

First thing you need to do is sign up for a Google AdSense account. If you have a Gmail account, then you can use an existing account.

Once you’ve submitted your application, you will receive an email within 6 – 8 hours telling you whether you have passed the first step of the review process. If you passed the first check, then you can log in to your AdSense account and get your ad code.
Start by clicking on the My ads tab and then click on the New ad unit button.

Google AdSense Create Ad:

This will bring you to create new ad page. On this page, you need to select the Ad size, type, and style.

Add Name:

The name of the Ad is only used for internal purposes, so you can name it like “SiteName Sidebar”.

The next option is choosing the Ad Size. While Google offers a wide-variety of ad sizes, there are certain sizes that are listed under recommended because those are the most popular among advertisers. What that means is that these ads are likely to have a higher inventory thus a better payout.

The next option is to choose Ad type, we recommend having both Text & display ads.

For backup ads, you can either choose to have a blank space or fill it with your own ad. This is shown when Google cannot find an appropriate advertise (which rarely happens).

Custom Channels feature allows you to better track the ad performance based on sites. You don’t have to use it if you don’t want to.

Ad style allows you to control the display of your text based ad units. We recommend using your site’s color scheme for best results.

Once you’re done with this setup, simply click on Save and get code button. You will be prompted with a message “Ad successfully created”, and you will also see the Ad code.

Copy your Ad code and paste it in a Notepad because you will need it in the next step.
Adding Google AdSense in WordPress

You need to determine where you want to show the ad on your website. Most commonly ads are displayed in the sidebar. You can add the Ads in your sidebar by using WordPress widgets.

Simply go to Appearance » Widgets in your WordPress admin area. Next drag & drop the Text widget to the appropriate widget area and paste your Google AdSense code in there.

AdSense Best Practices and Frequently Asked Questions:

Over the years, we’ve answered several AdSense related questions. Having used AdSense on several of our sites such as List25, we’ve learnt a whole lot about optimizing. Below are some AdSense best practices and frequently asked questions.

Q.What’s the best AdSense Ad Size?

A.Although ad placement is key, we’ve found that the best sizes are 336×280 and 300×260. These ads tend to fit on most screen sizes and have the best pay rate as well.

Q.What’s the Best AdSense Placement?

A.This entirely depends on your layout. The goal is to get more clicks, so you want to place your ads in a more prominent spot. We have found that ads within post content towards the top of the screen tends to get the most clicks.

Several users have asked us about adding AdSense in a floating widget because it will be very prominent. We strongly recommend against that because it is not allowed by Google Terms of Service. If you violate their TOS, then you can get banned from the program.

Q.Can I click on my Ads?

A.Often beginners are tempted to click on their own ads or ask their family members to click on their ads. Please don’t do that. Google’s algorithm is very smart and knows when you’re clicking on your own ad. This can get you banned from the program.

Q.What is Page RPM?

A.RPM stands for Revenue per Mille meaning revenue per 1000 impressions. This is determined by multiplying the total number of clicks and cost per click and then dividing that by the total number of pageviews.

We hope this article helped you add Google AdSense in your WordPress site. If you have any questions, then please feel free to ask us by leaving a comment below.

Apply For Adsense

In this post, we’ll teach you how to apply for Google Adsense. There’s different ways to make money off your blog or website but Google’s Adsense program still makes the best sense because it has the most advertisers willing to pay and it also has the highest payouts.

How To Apply For Google Adsense:

Still, applying for adsense can be tricky. It’s not a walk in the park. In a nutshell, if it looks like you’ve got a website that doesn’t really provide value, then you will most likely be rejected by Google.

Here’s how you increase your chances of getting approved for a Google Adsense account.

1. Content is still king:

If you have a niche website or blog, make sure you already have awesome content. At the least, have 10-15 well-written articles with 500 words each. Ideally though, you’d have 40 quality articles with a handful of them with at least 2000 words each.

No poor writing please. The content needs to be high-quality, original, and stunning! And don’t forget. It should be useful to your target demographic.

2. Choose a good-looking theme:

Research for your theme well. There are A LOT of good-looking themes that you can get for free. If you know how to do some basic coding, you can even improve and mod your free themes.

If you don’t know any coding though and can’t find the perfect theme for you to use, you can look through premium themes. There are cheap but well-designed themes that you can buy for less than $50.

Our personal preference is the Genesis Framework because it’s very solid and stable. Then, we just choose child themes that work with Genesis.

As of writing, the trend seems to be moving towards magazine-type themes.

Pro-tip: Check out your competition and see what themes they’re using.

3. Complete your website pages

Make sure that you have all your basic pages created. (And do them well) These pages will flesh out your website even mroe.

See our checklist below:

Privacy Policy
Terms of Use
Disclaimer Policy
There are free online generators that you can use. Just make sure to read through the output before pasting it onto your pages.

4. Make sure to have all the basics:

Here are a handful more items you need to complete before you apply for Google Adsense.

XML Sitemap
Google Analytics
Google Webmaster Tools
Robots.txt file
Proper Logo
Custom Domain
Email address (yourname@website.com)
Use your custom email address when you apply for Google Adsense. Oh and here’s the kicker. Make sure you have a minimum of 50 visitors per day. This will increase your chances of being taken seriously.

5. Fill out the online application:

You’ll be providing your website URL, name, address, contact information and so on. Expect to provide your details since future transactions will cover payment transfers.

Waiting time usually takes 1-2 days if everything is in order but others have been known to take longer. Once you get “temporarily” approved, you can start placing ads.

Google will be monitoring your activity so you pay attention to these reminders:

If you do NOT want your account to get closed down or banned, DO NOT DO ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

Do NOT click on your own ads
Do NOT ask somebody else to click on your ads
Do NOT place any other third party banner and ad code on your website
In the beginning, do NOT add affiliate links or hosting programs. This can come later.
Do NOT do anything remotely suspicious

If you follow the tips above, you should get approval quickly. Good luck!

Before Applying In Adsense

12 Things to Do Before Applying for Google Adsense:

You must be thinking that..How to apply for AdSense...How to qualify for AdSense
Am I eligible to apply for AdSense..What are Google AdSense Requirements
Why Google AdSense rejected my application..
This post is going to answer all your questions. It’s going be a bit long so grab a cup of coffee..

WHAT IS GOOGLE ADSENSE AND WHY YOU SHOULD USE?

Google AdSense is one of the oldest network to offer ad publishing and works at Pay Per Click system. In fact Google used to give AdSense to everyone who used to make blogs through Google Blogspot.

When it comes to the legitimacy of Google AdSense, it speaks for itself. Google AdSense have thousands and thousands of satisfied customers and publishers. AdSense pays on time, every time.
One more reason for choosing Google AdSense is that we can earn huge amounts of money if we do our work in right way. There are many bloggers who are making a complete living from their blogs and Google AdSense. Therefore, Google AdSense should be the number one choice among all the other available networks.

It’s paying rates are better than all of other networks which is the biggest reason it is so popular to all Bloggers and Webmasters. But since everybody is running behind them, they have made the approval system very strict. You make little mistakes and get disapproved every time. Here are few reasons why Google will reject your application.

WHY ADSENSE WILL REJECT YOUR APPLICATION?

Here are the most common reasons and AdSense requirements which they gives when they reject your application.

1.  Insufficient content or Unacceptable site content — Your website do not have enough text on them for Google specialists to review.

Google gives a lot of value and attention to the content of the blog before accepting it. If the content is poorly written and have grammatical mistakes, Google will reject the blog right away. Not only the content needs to be grammatically correct, it must be unique and has to provide value to the users and readers of the blog. So the number one reason is the poorly written content on your blog.

2. Page Type and Design of your blog — What will you do if you land a page with full bright yellow background with white text on it, having huge buttons all over the place? Yes you’ll click away.

Blogs which are poorly designed and are hard for the visitors to understand, get rejected by Google for AdSense. You MUST have a good design which comforts the eye and is beautiful in the look.

3. No Privacy Policy, About us or Contact Us page — There are some pages which you must have before applying to Google AdSense if you want to get accepted. These are About us, Privacy Policy and Contact Us pages. These pages give the impression that you are a professional and that you are working according to the Google polices.

4. Site does not comply with Google policies — No rich, unique and meaningful content, no organic traffic, pages with little to no original content or bad user experience through clear navigation and organization. Your website may be the one that drive traffic through illegal sources, site with excessive keywords or poor coded design are usually rejected.

So you need a complete guidance and list of thing that you need to do before applying for Google AdSense and supposing that you are ready.

5. Age Verification:

This is the mistake that most younger blogger are making who are less than 18. They write incorrect age and get into trouble.

Use your correct date of birth and age while applying for Google AdSense account.

Because Google AdSense is not for people who are under 18. Some people realize this problem after being disproved a few times without any legitimate reason. So I advise you to be accurate while typing your age. Be honest.

6. Minimum Number of Posts:

What should be the minimum number of posts before applying for Google AdSense? There is no confirmed answer.

Not even one.

Because I have seen very established Blogs with 400+ posts and their owner telling me that Google AdSense is rejecting them while somewhere bloggers with 40,50 posts are enjoying making money. Exactly, what I said that there is no actual answer. However, we can always predict things. According to my experience, you should only apply after you have more than 50 posts. Posts length must be 500+ words too with quality content.

7. Design:
As mentioned earlier, you blog design matters a lot. It should be professional and not like a messy photo gallery. Clean, professional and smart design is appreciated by Google.

Your blog design is the biggest thing after Content. This represents your expertise, experience and professionalism. So be careful because anything can kill your chances of getting approved by AdSense. I recommend Elegant Themes because you get access to 87 WordPress themes in just $69.

8. Content Type:

Be careful with what type of content you are publishing. Because it is something that truly matters. Google AdSense is not for Pornographic, Illegal Items, Drugs or other Blogs / Sites like that. AdSense team won’t be willing to allow you to step in if you own a Non English Blog. Having posts shorter than 200 words in length is also Red Signal.

9. Providing Value:

Google loves the blog who are providing value in their content and their visitors and customers are enjoying that value. Be sincere with your visitors don’t ever try to scam them instead provide value.

Don’t complain about not making money and don’t clearly state that you’re blogging for money only and have no other interest in it. Because this will show them that you will not be providing values to your readers any day. Hence another Red Light glows up.

10. Top Level Domain:

Those days are gone far away when AdSense used to approve “Blogspot” and “WordPress.com” Blogs. As for today, you must have your own unique domain that specifies your Blog. If you don’t have one yet, stop dreaming about getting approved with Sub domains and go buy a Top Level Domain.

When it comes to domain, your domain should be of top level. For this purpose the best domain is .com domain. Choose a short, unique and easy to remember domain related to your blog niche. Another important thing about domain is it’s age. Because most of Asian Countries, AdSense has placed an age restriction. They don’t accept any sites which are not 6 months old.

So keep it in mind before applying for Google AdSense program.

11. Other Ad Networks:

If you have any other Ads placed like Chitika, Clicksor or anything, it’s time to drop them off. Even Google AdSense allows you to use other Ad Networks along with them, it’s better to remove the ads before Applying and don’t put them back until you get a reply from AdSense Team.

So, before submitting your application for Google AdSense make sure to remove all the ads on your blog from any other network.

12. Paid Traffic:

Google hates the sites that are getting paid traffic and mostly penalizes them so there is not a damn chance of getting approved by AdSense for a site that is getting paid traffic. You can bring traffic from Search Engines or any other way you want but if you want to earn via Google AdSense the right way, paid traffic is not a solution. Also note, that Google do not accept site which gets traffic from illegal sources.

So these are the things which one should have in mind before applying for google adsense. Hope you all felt some better after this discussion.
